Preen is a social enterprise - a business that runs for the benefit of the community and fulfils a social purpose.
We do a number of things but our main project is the Furniture Bank, a community reuse service that provides training, reduces waste and most importantly, supplies low cost furniture and appliances to vulnerable disadvantaged people in Bedfordshire.
To pay for this work we run 2 community reuse shops in Biggleswade and Dunstable which are open to the public. They’ve been described as ‘Aladdin’s Caves’ and stock all kinds of 2nd hand goods.
